SAAFFI’s ANNUAL 1-DAY SEMINAR & WORKSHOP

Bytes Conference Centre, Midrand, Gauteng
Thursday, 15th March 2012

In today’s world it is imperative that all of us are aware of the many regulations and restrictions that influence our actions. This seminar combines presentations with a workshop to highlight some of the rules that are of concern to Suppliers and Users of Flavourings and Fragrances.

The Seminar will include presentations on:

  • What Flavourings and Fragrances are, what they are made of, and their labelling , especially as far as allergens are concerned
  • How Natural, Organic, Sustainable, Biodegradable are handled in terms of Flavourings and Fragrances
  • The National Environmental Management Biodiversity Act of 2004 and how it affects the supply and use of certain raw materials
  • The Bioprospecting, Access and Benefit Sharing Regulations of 2008 and how they influence the supply of certain raw materials
  • Safety Aspects of Fragrance Materials and Flavouring Substances in FMCG products
  • Ethics and the SAAFFI Code of Practice
  • The Consumer Protection Act and aspects that manufacturers need to be aware of
  • The World & South Africa beyond 2012 – The latest scenarios, flags and probabilities

The Workshop session will be in two parts, the first taking place during the morning presentations, and the second, ‘the aMAZE-ing game’, after lunch. Prizes will be given to both winning individuals and the winning Team.

The Speakers include: Clem Sunter, Janusz Luterek, Jane Grainger, Carina Malherbe and Sharon Bolel.

This seminar will broaden delegates’ awareness of recent SA legislation and global positions, and how they affect the way business needs to be conducted.

‘Make it through the MAZE’ will also be a first class networking opportunity.

This will be a great occasion for those in Management, Procurement, Marketing, R&D and Sales to be exposed to some of the rules and regulations we are all facing in our everyday lives, whilst networking with like-minded people from similar industries. A 3-course lunch and afternoon cocktails presented by Liquidchefs are included in the cost.
