CAIA, the Chemical and Allied Industries Association, has organised an executive and management process safety breakfast presentation on Wednesday 30th July 2014 at the Country Club Johannesburg.
The Speaker, Judith Hackitt, currently chairs the UK Health and Safety Executive, the government agency for regulating workplace health and safety.
She has formally been Director General of the European Chemical Industries Council (CEFIC), Chief Executive of the UK Chemicals Industries Association (CIA) and has held various senior positions in the chemical industry. Judith was awarded her Commander of the British Empire (CBE) in 2006 for services to health and safety. She is immediate Past President of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) and is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and of IChemE.
Judith Hackitt trained as a chemical engineer, graduating from Imperial College in the 1970’s.

COSCHEM MORNING LECTURE

A ‘SPECIAL OCCASSION’ NETWORKING EVENING

Aubrey Parsons will be invested with his Life Membership of SAAFFI.
This evening’s Networking Evening is in honour of Aubrey and will be his official investiture of Life Membership of SAAFFI, as announced at SAAFFI’s AGM in January 2014.
Croft & Co, the restaurant chosen for the event, will be ours for the evening.
We are also thrilled to have Arnold Tanzer as chef for the evening. Arnold has been Culinary Producer of MasterChef South Africa for 2 years and is the owner of Food on the Move. He has created the following menu for us:

IN CAPE TOWN, JOHANNESBURG & DURBAN
During August 2014
The CTFA (Cosmetic Toiletry & Fragrance Association of South Africa), in conjunction with the AMA (Aerosol Manufacturers Association), will be hosting government roadshows in August to allow government departments to present and discuss various legislations with industry.
Presentations regarding Metrology Act compliance, Bioprospecting and Access Benefit compliance, the new Chemical Sector Safety Accord and an explanation of the role of the dti will be presented. There will be time allocated for questions.
The dates for these roadshows are:

Johannesburg: Wednesday, 20th August 2014
Durban: Wednesday, 27th August 2014
